Lightview

The Lightview effect (sometimes known as 'Lightbox' or 'Lightwindow') is a feature built into Spring that allows you to present images, slideshows, videos and other content on your website.

Lightview for images

To open an image in a Lightview:

  • Create a link by selecting some text/image in the Layout tab and clicking the 'Insert/Edit Link' button
  • Enter the URL to the link, or use the 'Browse' tab to select the image you wish to link to
  • On the 'Advanced' tab, enter 'lightview' into the class field
Entering a class name
  • You can set the title and caption by entering them both into title field eg. 'My Title :: My Caption'

  • Click 'Update' to insert the link

Lightview for videos

Spring currently supports the following video formats: avi, mov, mpg, mpeg, movie, mp4

To open a video file in Lightview:

  • Create a link by selecting some text/image in the Layout tab and clicking the 'Insert/Edit Link' button
  • Enter the URL to the link, or use the 'Browse' tab to select the video file you wish to link to
  • On the 'Advanced' tab, enter 'lightview' into the class field
Entering a class name
  • You can set the title and caption by entering them both into title field eg. 'My Title :: My Caption'
  • By default all video files are assumed to be 320px x 240px in size. You can override the dimensions of the video file by adding additional text to the 'title' field: 'My Title :: My Caption :: width: 800, height: 600'
Linking to a video file
  • Click 'Update' to insert the link
