Browser Window Titles

The following options allow you to customise how Browser Window Titles are displayed site wide. Taking advantage of these options can be invaluable for display in search engine results and SEO.

In Spring, from the Assets tab, create a new asset with the following details:

  • Title: Browser Window Title Suffix
  • ID: browser-window-title-suffix
  • Status: Online
  • Value: <enter the suffix required>

Example:

If the value entered above is 'Spring CMS Help' and the page visited has an existing Browser Window Title of 'Using the Site Manager' the browser window title used when viewed will be:

'Using the Site Manager - Spring CMS Help'

Adding a prefix to all browser window titles

In Spring, from the Assets tab, create a new asset with the following details:

  • Title: Browser Window Title Prefix
  • ID: browser-window-title-prefix
  • Status: Online
  • Value: <enter the prefix required>

  • Title: Browser Window Title Inherit
  • ID: browser-window-title-inherit
  • Status: Online

Edit the pages parent folder and make sure it has a 'Browser Window Title' set. Any pages with that folder will now have the parent folders Browser Window Title appended to it. If you have enabled a Browser Window Title Suffix, the parent folder Browser Window Title will be included before the suffix.

Example:

If the Browser Window Title of the parent folder is 'Using Spring' and the page visited has an existing Browser Window Title of 'Using the Site Manager' the browser window title used when viewed will be:

'Using the Site Manager - Using Spring'

Changing the delimiter between suffixes and prefixes

  • Title: Browser Window Title Delimiter
  • ID: browser-window-title-delimiter
  • Status: Online
